DiscForge

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026

This policy explains what information the DiscForge app collects, how it's used and shared, and the choices you have. DiscForge is provided by RGZ Tech Services ("we", "us"). Questions: info@rgztechservices.com.

Summary

  • We collect what the app needs to work: your account, your rounds and discs, and your location while you use location features.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
  • You choose who sees each round: everyone, friends, or only you.
  • You can delete rounds and discs in the app, and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, display name and password (handled by Google Firebase Authentication — we never see your password). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. You can also add a PDGA number.

Location. With your permission, DiscForge uses your device's precise location to:

  • find courses near you,
  • show your distance to the basket and record your path during a round (saved with the round as its GPS track),
  • measure throw distances when you log throws,
  • place a course you add on the map,
  • look up the wind where you're playing (Pro).

The app also keeps your last known location on your device so it can open quickly. Location is only used while the app is open; you can turn it off in iOS Settings, but GPS scoring and nearby courses won't work without it.

Your rounds and throws. Course, date, scores, notes, the round's GPS track, and throws you log (disc, throw type, shot shape, result, distance, and start/landing positions).

Your discs and comparisons. Discs in your bag (brand, mold, plastic, weight, flight numbers, colour, wear, notes) and comparisons you save.

Courses you add. Name, location, city, state, difficulty and pars. Added courses are visible to all DiscForge users.

Friends. Your friends list and friend requests you send or receive.

Pro subscription. Whether you have Pro and when it renews or ends. Payment is handled by Apple; we never receive your card details.

AI Caddie usage (Pro). A count of how many AI recommendations you request each day, used to apply the daily limit.

Stored only on your device. App preferences (units, theme, throwing style), a cache of courses, discs and rounds for offline use, and any offline course maps you download.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, save and sync your data, score rounds, show courses and maps, provide friends and live rounds, provide Pro features, and apply usage limits. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it.

Who can see your information

Other DiscForge users.

  • Your profile — display name, profile photo, PDGA number, Pro status and email address — can be looked up by other signed-in users. Others can find you by name, email address, PDGA number or friend code.
  • Your rounds are visible according to the setting you choose for each round: Public (anyone with the round's code), Friends (your friends), or Only me. Visible rounds include the course, date, scores, notes, logged throws and the GPS track. You set a default in Settings and can change any round later.
  • While a round is in progress, your friends (or anyone with the code, if you share it publicly) can follow your scores live.
  • Courses you add are visible to everyone.

Service providers that process data for us:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions) — stores your account and app data.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — process Pro purchases and subscription status. RevenueCat identifies you by your DiscForge account ID.
  • Stripe and RevenueCat (web purchases) — if you buy Pro on our website, Stripe processes your payment details and RevenueCat records the subscription against your DiscForge account ID. We never receive your full card number.
  • Google Firebase Authentication (website sign-in) — signs you in on our website so a web purchase goes to the right account.
  • Anthropic (Pro, AI Caddie) — when you ask for a recommendation, our server sends Anthropic the discs being compared (name, type, flight numbers, stability, wear), your stats with those discs, and the current wind speed and direction. We don't send your name, email or location.
  • Open-Meteo (Pro, wind) — receives your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) to return current wind.
  • PDGA — receives your location when the app looks for courses near you, and your search text when you search for courses.
  • Map tile provider (OpenStreetMap) — receives your IP address and the map area you're viewing, as with any online map.

Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Exports and sharing

When you export data or share a round or friend code, the app hands it to the iOS share sheet, and you choose where it goes.

Apple Watch

If you use the Watch app, the current round is sent between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete rounds and discs in the app at any time. To delete your account and its data, email info@rgztechservices.com; we'll delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law. Data on your device is removed when you delete the app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Most of this you can do in the app; for anything else, email info@rgztechservices.com. You won't be treated differently for using these rights.

Children

DiscForge is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase. Access to your data is limited by security rules — for example, only you can change your profile and rounds, and only the server can change your Pro status. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Our website

This website doesn't use cookies, ads or tracking tools. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and the pages you request in order to deliver the site. If you join the launch list, we receive your email address (delivered to us by Web3Forms) and use it only to tell you when DiscForge launches.

Changes

We'll post changes to this policy here and update the effective date. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app.
